Rebecca Maddalo is a Writer and Director.

Born and raised in Cambridge, MA, she graduated from Harvard University in 2013 with a B.A. in Filmmaking and a minor in Music.

Rebecca began her career in documentary, most notably acting as Associate Producer on the feature length documentary from ASquaredFilms, THE GUYS NEXT DOOR, which premiered in 2016 at the Sarasota Film Festival and has been screened at numerous festivals since. She now works largely in narrative filmmaking as she pursues writing and directing for film and television.

Rebecca has freelanced as a writer, cinematographer, editor, and photographer in Boston, Tennessee, and Los Angeles. She moved to Los Angeles in the summer of 2016, where she received her MFA in Directing from the American Film Institute. During the pandemic, she moved back to the east coast and has continued to direct music videos and find other ways to connect with film remotely.

Rebecca believes that movies transcend boundaries. Her films have been recognized as official selections in various festivals. She cares deeply about giving voice to marginalized groups, and works frequently with material focusing on the intersection of trauma, relationships, and sexuality.
